Understanding roast scores

What overall scores and pillar grades mean for image and video ads.

Every roast returns an overall score from 0 to 100, derived from weighted pillar grades. Scores below ~60 usually mean the creative needs work before scaling spend; 75+ is strong; 90+ is excellent. Verdicts on video roasts map to the same ranges.

Hook Strength
Does the first impression stop the scroll and create curiosity?
Offer Clarity
Is the deal, price, or value proposition obvious within seconds?
Social Proof
Reviews, ratings, testimonials, or trust signals present and credible?
Visual Strength
Composition, product visibility, contrast, and production quality.
Copy & Wording
Headline and body text — clarity, urgency, and readability.
Scroll-Stop Power
Thumb-stop factor: color, motion cues, faces, and pattern interrupt.
Audience Fit
Does the creative speak to the stated target audience?
Creative Psychology
Emotional triggers, desire, and persuasion mechanics.
Meta Ad Policy
Risk of rejection — exaggerated claims, restricted content, landing mismatch.
Ad Format Fit
Suitability for the chosen placement (feed vs Stories/Reels).

Hook strength
First 1–3 seconds — does the opening earn the next second?
Product clarity
Can a viewer tell what is being sold and why it matters?
Offer clarity
Price, discount, or CTA communicated clearly and early enough.
Pacing
Cuts, rhythm, and length — no dead air or rushed payoff.
Visual quality
Resolution, lighting, stability, and on-screen product shots.
Text readability
On-screen captions and supers legible on mobile.
Audio & voice
Voiceover, music, and sound design support the message.
Trust & conversion
Proof, credibility, and a clear path to act.
Platform fit
Native feel for Reels, Stories, or feed placements.
